I do not want to purchase a new wedding band, but I do want to change my gold wedding band to white gold. Am I able to have a jeweler melt it or plate it with another metal that would give it a white gold, silver, or platinum appearance?

My white gold ring has a yellow tint to it. Can it be plated in Platinum. If so, how much should I expect to pay to do this?
